The Society of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (SRS) is an international, multidisciplinary professional organization dedicated to the advancement of excellence in education and research in radiopharmaceutical science and in the study and use of radiopharmaceuticals. SRS was formed primarily to train the next generation of radiopharmaceutical scientists.
SRS provides academic and intellectual support for radiopharmaceutical science. The society also:

- Fosters meetings for the purpose of communicating and discussing information about radiopharmaceuticals as they apply to the better understanding and control of biological phenomena, both normal and pathological;
- Supports educational programs to train scientists in the field;
- Disseminates information concerning radiopharmaceutical sciences by sponsoring scientific and professional publications; and
- Strives to improve the welfare of mankind by maintaining and advancing the highest possible standards in education, in research, and in the practice of the radiopharmaceutical sciences.
In addition, SRS serves as an umbrella organization to other, more focused organizations—in particular, organizations in one specific country or group of countries where regulatory issues are part of their charter or where a particular scientific emphasis is part of their mission.
