The fourth international edition of the symposium on Technetium and Other Radiometals in Chemistry and Medicine (TERACHEM 2022), continued the long tradition of the previous symposia on Technetium and Rhenium in Chemistry and Nuclear Medicine. As a unique trait, the TERACHEM Symposium focused on recent advances in radiometal coordination chemistry, and on new applications of radiometal-containing molecules in pre-clinical and clinical imaging and radiotherapy.

The Symposium took place on September 14-17, and offered plenary lectures and presentations on the development of medically relevant radio-metals and their application in chemistry, radiopharmacy, and nuclear medicine.

Topics included:

  • Radioisotope Development, Production, and Targetry

  • Chemistry of Technetium and Other Radiometals in Medicine

  • Radiopharmaceuticals labeled with 99mTc and Other Radiometals

  • Clinical Applications of Radiopharmaceuticals Labeled with Radiometals

As in previous editions, the conference venue was in Bressanone (BZ), a charming town located in northern Italy, between the Garda Lake and the Austrian border. During the three days of the Symposium, young scientists and students had the opportunity to engage in scientifically exciting discussions with experts in the field in an informal setting.
