The SRS Think Tank (SRS-TT) is working with SRS leaders to organize the second edition of our Summer School on Organic and Halogen Radiochemistry (CAFACHEM 2024), which is dedicated to State-of-Art Organic/Halogen Radiochemistry and its application in PET tracer development. CAFACHEM stands for CArbon, Fluorine and organohalogen rAdioCHEMistry. CAFACHEM 2024 will be held July 17-20, 2024 on the University of Michigan Campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA).

CAFACHEM 2024 Summer School is being organized for early career staff scientists, technicians, undergraduate and graduate (MS and PhD) students and postdocs who want to learn about the latest radiochemistry with organic and halogen radionuclides, e.g. 211At, 76/77Br, 11C, 18F, 123/124/131I, 13N,  and others. Application of radiotracers in preclinical and clinical imaging for neurological and oncological disease as well as drug discovery was covered. In addition to lectures from senior experts, attendees will have the opportunity to present their own research (oral and poster sessions).

About Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor is a bustling university town, culinary hotspot, and a tech hub with a walkable downtown that includes world-class arts and culture. Located in southeast Michigan's Lower Peninsula, Ann Arbor is renowned for its rich arts and culture, vibrant downtown, and eclectic culinary scene.

Not only will CAFACHEM 2024 be a great learning and networking experience, but it will also coincide with the annual Ann Arbor Art Fair—a Midwest tradition that draws close to half a million attendees over three days in July. As the largest juried art fair in the nation, the Ann Arbor Art Fair features nearly 1,000 artists and a footprint spanning 30 city blocks in downtown Ann Arbor. It should be a lively time in Ann Arbor, and the typical high and low temperatures are pleasant—average lows in the mid-60s F (about 18° C) and average highs in the mid-80s F (about 29 °C).

Meeting Space
All our meeting space will be a the Michigan League, a building that provides elegant facilities and superb catering services, creating the perfect atmosphere for engaging with your peers and instructors.

Registration & Housing
Registration fees of approximately $350 USD include breakfasts, lunches, breaks, reception, dinner party, and a social event around town. Housing will be available for under $100 USD each night at one of the university dormitories.

Abstract Submission
The abstract submission system is now accepting submissions. As you can see in the agenda below, both oral and poster presentations by early career scientists, technicians, PhD-students and Post-docs will be important components of the educational experience.
